ICS is proud to be a leading Electrical and Instrumentation service provider in the Greater Cincinnati area. We go the extra mile when it comes to the certifications held by the company and its employees. Many of our certifications come at a great cost to obtain and maintain, but we feel they are crucial to our success. This allows us to supply our customers with competent individuals who have the skill sets necessary to properly install, test, and maintain your equipment.
Some of our certifications and memberships are detailed below:
Electrical Services
- ICS Electrical Services maintains Electrical Contracting and Fire Alarm Contracting licenses, and our electricians maintain Journeyman Electrician and Fire Alarm Installer licenses. This enables us to work in any locality and comply with the local “Authority Having Jurisdiction”.
- ICS maintains an active membership with the Independent Electrical Contractors of Greater Cincinnati (IEC). All of ICS’s electrical apprentices are required to attend the IEC’s accredited electrical apprenticeship program. The IEC is the nation’s premier trade association representing America’s independent electrical contractors. The IEC of Greater Cincinnati has been awarded the national IEC Chapter of the Year 11 of the last 13 years and shows no signs of slowing down. The training of our employees is of utmost importance to us. This is why we make the significant investment in training our technicians to be professionals, which is what we strive to create.
- ICS technicians are certified in the termination and splicing of medium voltage cables, up to 35KV. Correctly installed terminations will give your electrical infrastructure a full lifetime of use. Incorrectly installed terminations will lead to costly failure well before the life expectancy of your system.
- ICS maintains an active membership with Allied Construction Industries. Having an inside tract to industry information keeps ICS up to date with safety and construction trends.
Instrumentation Services
- ICS’s instrument technicians are ISA Certified Control Systems Technicians (CCST) who can serve all of your instrumentation needs. This organization is one of the most recognized instrument societies in the world which develops industry standards and certifies industry professionals. ISA’s CCST certification is an in depth certification process that requires an individual to formally document at least five years of full time experience in this field, prior to applying for the certification. This process then requires the applicant to be trained and tested on the many aspects of instrumentation including, calibration procedures, documentation procedures, and troubleshooting procedures for the many different types of instruments.
- ICS is a member of the National Conference of Standards Laboratories (NCSL International) which is an organization that serves the “world of measurement”. This enables us to be well informed with new calibration procedures and documentation systems for instrumentation.
Industrial Control Panels
- ICS is an UL Listed 508A assembly shop for Industrial Control Panels, which enables us to design and build UL Listed control panels to meet all of your needs. Many local municipalities are requiring a UL Listing on all control panel assemblies installed within their jurisdiction, and they will not bend on this requirement. There is a major cost and inconvenience associated with having your control panels inspected, retrofitted into compliance, and listed after installation, rather than at the time of assembly. A UL listed panel will eliminate these issues, and will give you years of trouble-free service.
Infrared Thermography
- Our Infrared Thermography technicians have certifications from the Infrared Training Center (ITC) for accurate thermo-graphic evaluations of your facility. Not only could this be an invaluable service for your facility by eliminating costly failures and downtimes, some insurance companies require these evaluations.
